Hiker Hostel at St. Thomas'

St. Thomas is a delightful little surprise—an early board-and-batten construction with its bellfry mounted at the rear of the building. It almost certainly traces its roots to the “cottage Gothic” popularized by Andrew Jackson Downing. The congregation was not formally incorporated until a year after its erection—a not uncommon practice. It sits at one side of a large plot it shares with a Methodist church, a vicarage, a new St. Thomas church, and a burial ground.
